The
Owen Sound D.I.A has been in existence since 1973.
Our
mandate is to promote, maintain and beautify
municipally owned lands, buildings and structures
in the designated area, as well as promote the

The Downtown Improvement Area is managed by an elected Board of Directors. The term of the board is 4 years, the same as municipal council.
Our office is centrally located in the Downtown
core at 854 2nd Avenue East. The decisions of the Board are implemented by the Manager and the Promotion/Marketing
Co-ordinator. We welcome you to stop
by when visiting downtown to pick up a copy
of our Map & Guide to Downtown
Businesses. We also have a Restaurant
Guide which showcases our downtown
restaurants.
During the spring, summer and fall, you'll see
our Maintenance Workers busy keeping the streets
and alleyways clean for your shopping enjoyment. As well, during the summer, you'll see our watering
students out watering and fertilizing our many
plants and flowers.
We
work closely with many community groups, such
as the Festival of the Northern Lights, City Hall, Tourism Office, Chamber
of Commerce, Owen Sound Police and many more
to ensure that the downtown is a vital
part of the community.
